# Other W3C Activities * * * This section outlines some other important and interesting W3C activities. * * * ## The Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) WAI defines guidelines on how to make Web content more accessible to people with disabilities. WAI pursues accessibility for all through technology, guidelines, tools, education, research, and development projects. The goal of MathML is to enable mathematics to be served, received, and processed on the Web, just as HTML has enabled this functionality for text.
