A 404 page is returned by the server when a user accesses a page that does not exist or has been deleted. It is said that before the Third Industrial Revolution, the internet was essentially a large central database located in Room 404. All requests were manually handled at that time. If the requested file could not be found in the database, or if the user entered an incorrect file number, they would receive the response: "room 404: file not found". Later, as the internet grew, people became accustomed to using 404 as the error code indicating that the server could not find the requested file.
