404 NOT FOUND!
Sorry, we couldn't find the article you need!!
The 404 page is an essential part of any website and plays a crucial role in user experience and SEO optimization. A 404 error occurs when users try to access pages that do not exist or have been deleted on the site. If the webmaster does not set up a custom 404 page, dead links will appear, which can negatively impact search engine indexing when crawlers encounter such URLs.
Origin of 404 Not Found
Legend has it that before the Third Industrial Revolution, the form of the Internet was a large central database located inside Room 404. At that time, all requests were manually processed by humans. If the requested file could not be found in the database due to incorrect numbering or other reasons, users would receive a message: room 404 : file not found. After the rise of the modern Internet, people became accustomed to using 404 as the standard error code for missing server resources. However, historical verification shows that the legendary Room 404 never actually existed.
Two Major Benefits of Setting Up a 404 Page
- Guide users not to close the website, enhancing user experience.
- Prevent the appearance of dead links on the website.
