# Linux shapecfg Command

The Linux shapecfg command is used to control traffic on network devices.
Traffic control functionality has been supported since Linux-2.15.
### Syntax
shapecfg attach
or
shapecfg speed
**Parameter Description**:
* attach: Attaches the traffic controller to the actual network device.
* speed: Sets the outbound bandwidth for the traffic controller.
